See the week before it happens with the Monitor Daily Re-Forecast Chart
16/01/2026 by Sarah Sennett
Planning ahead usually starts with the best intentions – but without clear visibility into the right data, those plans can lose momentum.
When you can see how a week is really shaping up for bookings, days or even weeks before service, you move from reacting late to acting early – putting you in a much stronger position to protect revenue and hit your targets.
That’s exactly what the new Monitor Daily Re-Forecast Chart in Distil Diagnostics is built for.
It gives you a clear, visual timeline of how the week is building, so you can see whether the actuals are moving closer to expectation or drifting off course while you still have time to fix it.

What the Re-Forecast Chart shows
When you open the Monitor details, you’ll now see a timeline that shows how your monitored week is building over time.
You can track performance from 35 days before the week begins, all the way through to Day 6 of the live week – with Day 0 marking the start of the monitored week.
This full range is always visible, no matter when the Monitor was created. That means you can instantly understand:
- where you are in the build-up
- what’s already happened
- how things are performing right now
Inside the chart
- Expectation: A flat line representing your target for the week – the finishing line you want both Forecast and Actuals to cross.
- Forecast vs Actuals: See forecasted pre-booked covers alongside actual pre-booked covers as they build over time.
- Walk-ins: Forecasted walk-ins appear before the week starts, with actual walk-ins beginning from Day 0 – just as you’d expect.
Together, this creates a simple but powerful view of momentum: not just where you’re headed, but whether your actions are changing the direction.
What this means in a real-life scenario
Imagine you’re planning two weeks ahead (well done, future you will thank you!).
You’re reviewing the forecast in Distil for Week 43, and one restaurant immediately stands out.
Restaurant A is flagged red – the current trajectory isn’t getting anywhere near your expectation.
Instead of waiting for the week to arrive and hoping for the best, you can get ahead of it.
You set up a Monitor, pull the team together, and agree a plan. A marketing campaign goes live. Now, instead of guessing whether it’s working, you can see it.
In the Monitor, the Re-forecast Chart starts to tell the story:
- Are your pre-booked actuals beginning to close the gap to expectation?
- Is the forecast lifting as the campaign gains traction?
If the answer is yes (which we’re rooting for), that’s more than a gut feeling – you’ve got proof. A screenshot, a timeline, and a clear link between forward planning and real revenue impact.
