Just as DNA is the source code for every human being, data security is the founding principle of Distil. Hard-wired into every product function, it’s the beating heart of the platform – so we’re delighted to achieve the internationally recognised SOC2 accreditation.
An essential in today’s digital world, the SOC2 data security standard is vital external validation for any customer data platform. Distil’s systems and processes are designed and operated to uphold the highest standards of data security, and now we’ve got the official stamp of approval to say so!
What is the SOC2 accreditation?
SOC2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a standard of compliance that shows a customer data platform operates with data security at its heart.
Validated by an external auditor, SOC2 is a series of data security criteria based on 5 trust principles; security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.
Distil recently achieved both type 1 and type 2 awards and will continue to operate in a manner that maintains type 2 compliance.
Why is SOC2 an important standard to look for in a data provider?
It means that the platform is externally validated as trustworthy, secure and ready to handle enterprise-level data operations.
With over 800 million customer touchpoints handled daily in Distil, SOC2 is recognition of the ongoing commitment to secure, reliable data handling.
CTO Neil Stoneman said, “As the Distil platform continues to mature, we recognise the need to continually evolve our data security protocols and the SOC2 audit is another way of demonstrating our commitment to customer data security.”
